Couples counseling
When you love each other and still feel stuck
A place for both of you to slow down, be heard, and figure out what you want more of together.
Couples often reach out when
- You feel more like roommates than partners
- The same argument keeps coming back, no matter how it starts
- One of you reaches for connection and the other pulls away
- A big change, like a move, a new job, a new baby, or an empty house, shifted how you relate
- You want to get back to feeling like a team
How we'll work together
Most couples come in focused on what keeps going wrong. That makes sense, but it's rarely the whole picture. We'll spend more time on the moments that still work between you, even small ones, and on what each of you wants the relationship to look like. From there, we'll find practical, doable steps you can try between sessions.
Sessions include both partners. Early on, I'll also meet briefly with each of you on your own, so each person has space to share.
Is couples counseling right for us?
Couples counseling works best when both partners are willing to take part and both feel safe. If there's violence, threats, or fear in the relationship, couples sessions usually aren't the right first step, and I can help you find support that is. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available any time at 1-800-799-7233.
If only one of you is ready to start, individual counseling can still help. See who I work with.
